The first photo was taken by Ben Baker. Ben Baker is from Australia but currently lives in New York City. He has taken many portraits, many that range from very successful people to your everyday people. He has photographed for Fortune magazine, Parade, Time, Bloomburg, and Businessweek. Ben has also traveled the world to photograph everything this world has to offer.
The photo on the left was taken straight on with the model's profile in full focus, which I recreated in the photo on the right. Ben Baker , on the left, has a bleach white background, almost identical to the sweatshirt the model is wearing. In my photo on the right, the lighting/background is not the same as it is in the photo. The light sources of the photo were different as well. Ben Baker's photo used artificial studio lighting where my light source came from the window. I followed the rule of thirds just like Ben did so that I could recreate the photo to the best of my ability. I had my sister attempt to make the same facial expression, but the model on the left had a slight smirk on her face while the photo on the right has no expression on her face. I believe the most successful part of my recreation was following the rule of thirds just like Ben had done. If I were to recreate this photo again, I would crate it in a studio, so that I could use the bleach white background with the studio lighting to have the photo be exactly the same.
